UPSC · Boards · Entrance exams

One exam.
One product built for it.

PrepCrest is an exam-preparation app for UPSC Prelims and Mains, CBSE and state boards, and the entrance exams after them. It changes shape around the exam you chose: what you study, what you are tested on, and how your answers are marked.

UPSC Prelims and Mains, in one app

The same account takes you from the first Prelims paper to the last Mains answer.

  • Prelims: timed papers with negative marking, previous years’ papers, and a review of every answer you got wrong.
  • Mains: a GS question to answer every day, and handwritten answers photographed and marked against a rubric, per question.
  • Current affairs: daily briefs tagged to the GS paper they belong to, with the facts, the background and the Mains angle.
  • Revision: the questions you get wrong come back on a schedule, and Progress shows where you are strong and weak.
The loop

Get it wrong, and it takes you to the chapter that teaches it — even if that chapter is two classes below yours.

A wrong answer names a topic. The app opens the library chapter that teaches that topic, earliest class first, and deliberately not limited to your own course — because the best treatment of a Class 10 idea is often the Class 8 one. Then the lesson that explains it, opened at that chapter.

  1. You answer wrongOn a practice paper or a drill.
  2. The miss names a topicNot a subject — the topic itself.
  3. The chapter opensEarliest class first, whatever your course.

Exams

Built for the exam you are actually sitting

A Class 7 student and a UPSC aspirant share an engine and nothing else. Each family gets its own home, its own tools and its own vocabulary — and that is a decision in the schema, not a theme.

syllabus

Syllabus-shaped

A subject grid. The chapter list is finite and authoritative.

  • School & Boards
  • Engineering Entrance
  • Medical Entrance
  • Teaching Eligibility
  • Olympiads & Scholarships
  • Postgraduate & Research
  • Central University Entrance
  • Pure Sciences & Research
  • Agriculture & Allied Sciences
source

Source-shaped

A shelf and a toolbox. Sources across time, not a chapter tree.

  • Civil Services
skill

Skill-shaped

A sectional drill board. Archetypes, speed, and the clock.

  • Management Entrance
  • Law Entrance
  • Staff Selection
  • Banking & Insurance
  • Railway Recruitment
  • Defence Services
  • Design & Architecture
  • PSU & Technical Services
  • Programming & Computer Science

Every family above is seeded with its courses and its syllabus. Depth varies by exam: School & Boards has the full NCERT chapter tree behind it, and some families get their own tools — a periodic table for Engineering and Medical, a code runner for Programming.

Today, not soon

What is live right now

8 surfaces running end to end, on the web and on Android. Nothing on this list is a roadmap item.

  • The library

276 NCERT books and 2,621 chapters, each linked to the topic it teaches. We link to the publisher rather than rehosting their book — and the first chapters of every subject stay free for everybody.

  • Practice that means something

A bank of 20,931 questions and 260 papers across 292 courses, mapped to 22,440 syllabus entries — so a paper is drawn from your syllabus rather than from a pile.

  • Ask a doubt

Not a chatbot with your syllabus pasted in. It opens the chapter, explains it a few sentences at a time, writes on a board while it talks, and stops to ask whether you followed.

  • An assistant that knows the exam

Different from the tutor on purpose: this one answers questions about the examination itself — its stages, its papers, its directive words, and how an answer should be built.

  • Answer evaluation, UPSC Mains and more

Photograph a handwritten answer and have it marked against a real rubric — 11 of them, scored across 16 named dimensions, per question, with what was missed. For every exam written in prose, not only UPSC.

  • Editorials, gathered for you

The Hindu, Indian Express and RBI, polled every ten minutes. Every item carries the link to the original — we cite the publisher, we do not reprint them.

  • UPSC current affairs, briefed daily

The day’s news cut down to what the exam asks: each brief tagged to its GS paper, scored for exam relevance, with the facts, the background, the Mains angle and questions to practise on.

  • Mistakes that come back

Every question you get wrong returns on a revision schedule until you get it right, and Progress shows where you are strong, where you are weak, and whether your guesses are earning marks or losing them.

How it works

Three steps, then the loop takes over

  1. Choose your exam

One question, asked once. It decides the whole product you get — the home screen, the tools, the vocabulary.

  2. Study the plan

Chapters, sources and drills in the order your paper wants them, drawn from the syllabus mapped to your course.

  3. Test and fix

Attempt, read why the answer was wrong, and land on the chapter that teaches the thing that broke.

Android

Study on the phone you already study on

The Android app is the same product, not a cut-down one. It shares the API, the bank and the account.

  • Sign in with your mobile number and a six-digit code — no password to remember.
  • The same question bank, the same papers, the same timer.
  • The tutor and the answer evaluator, camera included, for photographing written answers.

The APK is for phones without Google Play · iOS not out yet.

Schools & coaching institutes

Run it for a whole cohort

PrepCrest is one of eight products on the EazeByte platform, so it can share the identity, permissions and reporting an institution already runs — rather than becoming a second system with a second student list.

  • One student record shared with the EazeByte School ERP, so nobody keys a roll number twice.
  • Cohort, batch and class-level analytics for academic heads — per topic, not just pass rates.
  • White-labelled to your own name, colours, domain and app icon, on the portal and the app.
  • Records from another system imported and synced during onboarding.

The company

PrepCrest is an EazeByte product

PrepCrest is not a standalone app that happens to be sold by somebody. It is one of eight products on the EazeByte platform — enterprise software and AI agents for the operations that run businesses and institutions across India — and it shares that platform’s identity, permissions and reporting. That is why a school can add PrepCrest to the ERP it already runs instead of standing up a second student list beside it.

Questions

The things you would otherwise sign up to find out

What does it cost?

Free to start, and no card to begin. The first chapters of every subject stay free for everybody, permanently.

Which exams are covered?

Nineteen families, from School & Boards through Civil Services, Engineering and Medical entrance, Management, Law, Staff Selection, Banking, Railways, Defence and more. Depth varies: School & Boards and Civil Services run deepest today.

Do you host the NCERT books?

No. We link to the publisher and index the chapters, so a topic in a question points at the real chapter that teaches it. We cite; we do not reprint.

How is the tutor different from a chatbot?

It opens the chapter you are on, explains it a few sentences at a time, writes on a board while it talks, and stops to check you followed. There is a second assistant for questions about the examination itself — its stages, its papers, its directive words.

Can it mark a handwritten answer?

Yes. Photograph the page and it is marked against a real rubric — eleven of them, scored across sixteen named dimensions, per question, with what was missed. For every exam written in prose, not only UPSC.

Who makes PrepCrest?

EazeByte Technologies Private Limited, incorporated in Gurugram on 30 July 2026 (CIN U62011HR2026PTC148656). PrepCrest is one of eight products on the EazeByte platform; the registration record is published in full further up this page and at eazebyte.com.

Does it cover UPSC Mains as well as Prelims?

Yes. Prelims has timed papers with negative marking and previous years’ papers. Mains has GS answer writing with a daily question to answer, and handwritten answers marked against a rubric. Current affairs briefs are tagged to the GS paper they belong to.

Is there an app?

Android today, on Google Play — or as an APK from this page for phones without Play. iOS is not out yet.

Start with the exam. The rest follows.
